Carissa Moore’s Childhood Carissa Moore was born on August 27 in Honolulu. Growing up in Hawaii, she had an environment perfect for learning surfing. Her father, her supportive father, introduced her to surfing at an early stage of childhood. Together they spent many mornings at the beach. These early experiences helped develop her technique.
